Standards & Integrity

Editorial & Accuracy Policy

1. Commitment to Technical Accuracy

Scan Manga maintains rigorous technical and educational standards. All scanning guidelines, resolution metrics, and hardware reviews are authored by experienced digitization technicians and cross-referenced with established optical engineering standards (such as ISO 12233 resolution charts and FADGI cultural heritage digitization guidelines).

2. Calculator Verification & Peer Review

Every formula utilized in our interactive calculators is verified against mathematical first principles. Before any tool is published, its outputs are tested against physical test scans conducted on calibrated Epson and Fujitsu flatbeds across multiple Japanese trim formats (Tankobon, B6, and A5).

3. Corrections and Revisions Policy

When technical errors, formula inaccuracies, or publisher dimension changes are discovered, we issue prompt corrections. Every article displays a visible "Last updated" timestamp, reflecting genuine revisions rather than automated cosmetic updates.

4. Independence and Hardware Reviews

Our scanner hardware analyses and software evaluations are strictly independent. We do not accept paid manufacturer placements to promote inferior hardware. If a scanner technology (such as CIS contact sensors) exhibits known flaws when scanning bound manga book spines, we document those limitations honestly.

5. Sourcing and External Resources

We exclusively link to official manga publishing sources, academic archival projects, and verified open-source software repositories. We do not link to or cite unauthorized manga aggregators or piracy repositories.
